AHHH!! I’m so angry at airline fares and prices. This is silly… They taunt you with one fare, and by the time you click accept it has raised.

I think that whenever gas prices are high, airline tickets are high too, right? So if thats right then would it be smart to watch airline prices as well as prices of oil too? I just need to pay the least amount for a ticket as possible, and im wondering if this means anything.

In the short term, oil prices dont have much to do with airline prices because the tickets are bought up to a year in advance at a set price, as the number of seats available go down, the prices go up… Airline tickets are priced on the long term curve, also, many airlines "hedge" the market with fuel prices, that is, a company takes a risk to offer fuel to an airline at a set price regardless of market conditions, the airline must buy fuel from this single source, if the price of oil goes down and the airline is still paying the set rate, the oil company wins, if the price goes up, the airlines are still paying the set price and the airline wins… therefore, ticket prices can be determined ahead of time because the airlines know a year in advance how expensive the flight will be to operate…

$371.00. I need to buy 5 of them for my family and I think that is really high. Does anyone know if that sounds to high of price to pay for airline tickets to Florida from Boston roundtrip per person?

The price will go down drastically despite the rising fuel cost around the last week of April to the 2nd week of May. I got my roundtrip from Baltimore to Tampa for $230 after taxes and fees about 3 weeks ago and I’m traveling next Thursday.

What many airlines are doing besides charging customers more money per seat. They are limiting passengers to 1 checked bag per person with a $25 fee for a 2nd bag and $100 per bag for 3 or more bags per passenger to cut down on fuel capacity.

If you go onto ebay and type in Airline Voucher, you can save alot of money. They are $75 off one way with United on there for like $20 which you can buy 2 seperate one ways on 2 different itineraries and take $150 off of the full roundtrip price for $40 so you gain $110 discount. Please take a look.

Me and my husband are planning a trip to tulum mexico in April. I have the places i want to stay but i have never flown anywhere before, so i was needing to know whether to reserve hotels first or buy airline tickets first. Please someone tell me! Thanks.

Definitely purchase the airline tickets first… it’s probably going to be the more expensive between the two (airfare and hotel) and subject to fluctuation much more than the hotel rates. Also, as a rule of thumb airfare tends to be cheaper the earlier you buy.

1. Seat assignments are NOT guaranteed…(which means we can sit you anywhere we want to)
2. The airlines offer "refundable" and "fee-less" changeable tickets, but they are higher priced…(which means if you opt to "save" money and buy a NON-refundable, NON-transferable ticket, you CAN’T change the name on the ticket, you CAN’T get a refund, and we ARE going to charge you extra fees and add-collects if you decide you need to change your ticket, especially if you want to change your outbound flight at the last minute…)
So, if you decide to "gamble," and save money on a "restrictive" ticket, don’t come whining to the airline about the "restrictions."
The terms and conditions are spelled out for you before you bought the ticket.
Just understand that because of "your own" decision to save money, no matter what the reason for your inability to fly your scheduled flights…
It sucks to be you…
Don’t say you weren’t warned, cause I just did..

Glad you got that off your chest.

In June I’m taking a vacation and just wondering where I can get some really cheap airline tickets now? Any good sites?

A suggestion would to check out bookingbuddy.com which will allow you to look up information on various sites without having to retype everything. My best suggestion, however, would be find internet coupon codes and deals directly with the airline. I have saved hundreds this way. Here’s one example, I booked a trip to Orlando but found out that I could fly into Tampa (1hr away) and rent a car and still save $300 instead of flying directly into Orlando (MCO). Try nearby airports, especially if you’re renting a vehicle.
